WEIRD BLOOM + Vinylparty mit MR. SUPERFUNK

Garage / Glam Psych

TICKETS

WEIRD BLOOM/Luca Di Cataldo is a Rome-based psych pop and bubble glam artist.
The project, born in 2015 (formerly Weird Black), has 3 records to his credit: Hy Brazil
(2016), Blisstonia (2018, distributed at Rough Trade East, Brick Lane) and Stargate
(2024).
The project features a quirky use of cartoon saturated guitars, where Luca’s psych
hippie melodies move on a wall of harmonies and pumping early 70s drum grooves.
The band appeared at SXSW 2017 and 2018, when the song My Dear Elena Summer’s
Vudun taken from second album was featured on Robin Hilton’s NPR SXSW 2018 best
picks. Other performances include 2018 Eurosonic (Groninghen, NL) and 2018 Great
Escape (Brighton, UK). After the 2019 RIV European Tour (CH, FR, BE), Weird Bloom
returned in the spring of 2022 with The Breakin’ Bones month long Europe tour (CH,
FR, DE, CZ, AT), via Yummy Truffles Booking. Among Italian festivals we can mention
Rock Your Head, A Night Like This, Home Festival, Disorder Festival and Busker
Festival.
The multifaceted formation put together by Luca now sees Adriano Bartoccini
(Electric Superfuzz, Beesus, MUDD) on drums, Mattia Micalich on bass, Edoardo Elia
and David Comanducci on guitars.
The highly anticipated third album Stargate is out on April 19th, 2024 via WWNBB
Collective. Written by Luca and Edoardo, it is a dip into the bubble glam era
illuminated by Don Bolles (The Germs, Ariel Pink, Fancy Space People), who guided
the lot through the hip shaking journey.

MR. SUPERFUNK will take over after the concert. He has a bunch of weird, wyld, wonderful vinyls in his baggy bag that will melt everybody’s faces off. Funkiest and danciest shit from the 70s and 80s. The stuff from dreams.
